Following the successful delivery of the 29th AFC Congress in Kuala Lumpur in April 2019 and the AFC Extraordinary Congress in Paris two months later, the Asian Football Confederation has an exciting future – allowing it to build on the solid platform of stability and unity created since 2013.
In the last six years, under the leadership of the AFC President, Shaikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, the AFC have delivered an incredible amount of development in Asian Football in line with the Vision and Mission of the AFC.
To help prepare for the next phase of growth and services the AFC Administration has been restructured with: –
a) A newly established Commercial Department
b) Competitions Division is now Competitions & Football Events Division
c) Member Association Department is now Member Association & Regional Association Department
d) Finance Department is now Finance & HR Department
e) A new General Administration & Services Department
The AFC is confident that it now has the most appropriate structure to maximise the opportunities of the next decade provided by its record commercial contract with partners DDMC Fortis and by its ever-growing competitions.
This will allow the AFC to continue the policy of investment in Member Associations and Regional Associations as outlined at previous Congresses and so guaranteeing their financial stability and technical development. There will also be further investment in growing the digital capacity and administrative skills of the MAs.
